I purchased the 2077 model from Home Depot after glowing reports that the LG was one of the top models. I also purchased the pedestal that it is mounted on. I purchased this because of consumer reports that the LG was one of the top brands for front loaders, the wash design was easier on clothes but MOST importantly, the water consumption was cut by 40% which will help keep excess water out of my septic system. However, I have had the LG technician out twice in the first two weeks to adjust it because it shakes so badly and is so noisy. On his second trip he told me that my floor was not stable enough under the back legs and that I needed to add more support. I live in a 9 year old one story home that is very well built, but I had my carpenter come out and add additional support in the crawl space. No noticeable difference, so I called the LG company back and this time they sent out an authorized repair rep from a local appliance company. This guy said my floor needed either a sheet of plywood under the washer or a ceramic tile floor. But where the LG guy said it was just the back legs, this guy slide the washer out another 8″ which put the front legs off the joist that it was on and said it worked better there…he says that all front loaders have this issue, but none of the people I know have this problem. The LG guy said they have no problem if you install them in a home built on a slab…and should not be installed on a second floor at all…I don’t know about anyone else, but I have failed to see that warning sign up in any store I went it while I was looking. I am a real estate appraiser and in this area of North Carolina, the vast majority of homes are built on crawl spaces…and the vast majority of homes that would pay that much money for a washer would have the laundry on the second floor…this is a definite failure to disclose proper use of this type of washer. It is important to note that when they run their diagnostic test, it is done with an empty washer. They did test it again, but only with a few towels, regular size mixed loads have the worst problem…but isn’t that what most people wash, mixed loads?

On a brighter note, I do love the way the clothes are washed…if only my house can survive years of excessive vibrations…thank God I don’t have any small children that need to sleep or take naps.
