We bought this washing machine from Lowes 5 months ago, when our 15 yr old ‘GE made’ Hotpoint appeared to be on the way out. That machine has been very dependable.

We have a need for a extra large capacity washer, as we have 3 kids under 6 and 1 on the way.

appearance

This machine comes in 2 colors white and bisque. Looks plain and unsophisticated, which is what it is.

Installation

This just involved the basic hooking up of the hot and cold hoses onto their faucets, and the 110v outlet on the wall. The feet did not need any adjustment.

Washing

For us a basic washing machine without the bells and whistles is fine, which is exactly what this machine is.. If you need extra rinse cycles and other gadgets look elsewhere. This washer has 8 wash cycles, which is enough for us.

I think it produces excellent consistent results. Getting stains out well and not overly harsh on fabrics with the agitator.Capacity is good too.

vibration/noise

noise, lots of noise, causes ‘initial worries’, sounds like something breaking up! But you get to know these different sounds as ‘normal’. Not much vibration, appears to be well balanced. Never had any trouble with uneven loads, as this is ’self balancing’ My mother in laws new Maytag has kept going out of balance, so this is an important issue.

what I like about this washer:-

very good wash results.

simple in features, less to go wrong, easy to use.

Reliability, no problems yet. Our old Hotpoint made by GE, was dependable too. the price, ours cost $270

What I dont like is:-

cycles thru dial even with the lid up.

lots of noise, causes initial worries, sounds like something breaking up! But you get to know these different sounds as ‘normal’. Inside plastics on the agitator seem flimsy compared to our old robust Hotpoint.
