We have had the GE Profile washer for about a week and it is absolutely outstanding. It replaced our Maytag washer that had nothing but problems and did a poor job of cleaning, rinsing, and spinning clothes. What a difference the GE made!

We were actually looking for a washing machine with just a few different cycles since we rarely do anything but regular wash. But after looking at all the washing machine brands and testing their knobs and controls, it became fairly evident that the high end GE Profile top loader had the smoothest working controls and a push-button to start, versus the pull and shove gadget on most machines. In addition it had a bigger stainless steel drum then other brands.

We spent a couple days going to various stores including Sears, Lowe’s, Home Depot, and finally Best Buy where they did not charge us for delivery, disposal, and gave us 6 months without interest on our purchase. At first we were a little overwhelmed by all the various brands of machines, even thou we were familiar with most. We eventually sorted it all out and finally made our decision based on that we wanted a top loader with smooth action controls.

There is nothing we dislike, it is a fabulous machine and is the best one we have ever owned. We had previously owned Maytag, Whirlpool, and Kenmore. Not even close in comparison.

The GE Profile 810 is much, much quieter than the Maytag that we had. There also appears to be no vibration even with heavy large loads, a major improvement over the Maytag washer.

The GE Profile’s tub is 3.5 cu. ft. about 8% larger than comparable models of other manufacturers. It is a deep stainless steel drum.

The machine appears to have 16 different cycles, water level is small to very large, and it also has the ability to heat very cold water to a luke-warm level. Not that we need that in Florida, but it would have been handy with the ice-cold Chicago water where we use to live. My understanding is if the water is too cold, cleaning with typical detergents is less than anticipated.

We have used 3 of the cycles including extra spin so far and are amazed at how well it cleans and how dry the clothes are. This seems to really shorten the drying time.

Although not part of the review the companion GE Profile 810 dryer is amazing in that our clothes come out virtually wrinkle free. In truth. . . no wrinkles, but I did not want it to appear I was exaggerating

Back to the washer, it is amazing appliance that does more than we will ever ask it. I can’t wait to use some of the other settings.
