I bought this machine October 1, 2006 and it died on me today 7 short months later. The tub inside is tilted to one corner and is unusable. That’s not even the worst part! Quite the story in just trying to get this thing serviced.

I first called the Lowe’s service center as instructed by my receipt. I was told by them that there were no techs in the area that could service this machine. Say what???? He then said they would forward my request to Fisher %26 Paykel and I should get a call back from them in 48 hours. The person also gave me the number for Fisher %26 Paykel and said I could also call them and see if they could do anything.

Ok, fine, I call Fisher %26 Paykel and was told there were 2 service techs in the area. The first one I called said they would not service the machine even under warranty because I had not bought it from them. Okaaaay…I call the second one and get a voice mail and no call back. I also checked this so-called service tech’s website and it was for a “do it yourself” appliance fixing, which of course voids the warranty!

The next stop was back to Lowe’s where it was bought. A manager had us go with an appliance salesman while he put in a few calls. The salesman was not too impressed when he called either…he was telling the person on the other end that we were getting the runaround and that 2 weeks was not acceptable. He was being very adamant on the phone trying to get them to do something. I commend the employees at Lowe’s for stepping in like they did.

We are now waiting to hear back from Fisher %26 Paykel. If they do not get back to us or if the amount of time it will take to fix is too much, Lowe’s is going to let us pick a new machine. You can bet your little butt it will NOT be another Fisher %26 Paykel! If you read reviews on their other models, you’ll see this same story…machine is good when it’s running, but their service is terrible!
